‘Iced Shaken’ drinks introduced at Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee – a brand synonymous with Good Brewed Coffee needs no introduction. With over 2500 outlets located across 28 countries and 100+ in India, it is undoubtedly one of the major names in the coffee industry. Costa Coffee recently launched ‘Ice Shaken Coffee’ – a unique concept of shaking the chosen coffee over ice and milk, keeping it more on the healthier side.

To start with, there is a noticeable difference in the warmth and welcome shown by the Costa crew and other stores in the field. The seating arrangements have been given appropriate thought to maintain your privacy – for those unending chats with friends and family over the cups of coffee. With the best in class food items, well trained people – hand making coffee – this is an art Costa Coffee has perfected.

I always fancied ‘Shaken not Stirred’ – being an avid fan of the James Bond series – and was pretty excited to see what they had to offer. The concept is modest – just choose your favorite coffee amongst – Latte, Espresso Americano, Cappuccino, Mocha, Macchiato, Ristretto, Chai Latte, and Chocolate and see it being shaken over an apt layer of ice for the flawless lift the summer commands.

We were suggested an Iced Latte Shaken – the perfect blend of the kick of the finest coffee beans, the mild sweetness and served ice cold – what else can you yearn for in the heat! A Red berry fruit cooler & Belgian Chocolate Creamy Cooler were the other ones on our table – each crafted to perfection – the Red berry fruit cooler was extremely refreshing. Fresh Red berries blended with ice to create the perfect concoction this is a drink I would love to have again and again. Belgian Chocolate Creamy Cooler is another fine drink crafted by Costa – the goodness of the Belgian Chocolate, the creaminess of the whipped cream and the magic of Costa – has created a marvelous drink.

Also on the table were a couple of recently launched sandwiches from their menu – Peri Peri magic Chicken Bagelwich – a unique ‘sandwich’ made of Bagels – which is a welcome change from all the regular bread sandwiches we are used to. The bagels are fresh and are served grilled – are the best thing to go with your cup of coffee (hot or cold). Chicken and Ham sandwich was also ordered – which was subtle on the flavors and the ingredients were fresh.

From the ‘sweet section’ – a  Vanilla Sponge Cake was ordered and was good too – with a layer of aptly sweetened butter cream and jam. The cake could have been a little soft, but the taste was good.

The good thing in Costa is that you can get your drinks customized – just say it – like it more sweet or on the lower side, strong coffee or light, regular milk or skimmed or soy milk – you have an array of choices.
